Little Bird Speak

This was video I took right before we moved and I'm so glad I did because she doesn't talk like this anymore. She still has some fun pronunciations (her own name for example) but more and more she's saying things right. Bummer! We were big fans of words like scary, spider, skate, etc...because she would say the "c/k" sound before the "s" sound.

4th of July Field Trip

The Wednesday before the 4th of July we got together with my sister and had a BBQ/pool party/fireworks extravaganza. It was so fun but I don't have any pictures because I forgot to take them. :(
On the 4th we decided to check out the Bass Pro Shop...what's more American than a store with a bunch of antlers strewn all over the front of it? The kids loved it, especially The Chief.

Lizard was pretty good at hitting the targets.

The Chief was checking out some fire pits.

He ran back and forth like this for over 5 minutes. I think he liked the sound his feet made as he went down the ramp.

Little Bird wanted to sit on every vehicle in the store.

We were about to get on the elevator when she spotted this one and refused to go until we took a photo of her driving it.

Let's Make a Treat

It is so fun being close to my sister! My cute nieces came over one day and while the older one played with the little ones upstairs (thanks Ella) Addi and I made treats. (I wish I had pics of the crew upstairs, all dressed up and having a tea party.)

Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops

She's making sure the extra chocolate doesn't go to waste.

She did such a good job!

Lizard Takes a Trip

Lizard's grandparents invited her to come to California for a visit and she ended up spending ten days there and having tons of fun. She went shopping, went to Six Flags, Fenton's, a movie, and...

Here she is at a River Cat's game. It was a company outing so there was a big group and a BBQ beforehand. She enjoyed the game and the fireworks at the end.

She got the chance on Sunday to visit my sister's grave. They decorated it for the 4th of July.

Here she is on a boat going in and around San Francisco.

Taking a break from roller skating at Sunrise Rollerland. I used to go there when I was a kid.

One of the highlights of her trip was getting to spend time with her best buddy Carly. They played in the park, went out to eat and even saw a movie. So fun! Carly's mom took a picture of a sign at the park. It's really sad that places have to post these kinds of rules nowadays.

Swim Lessons

For two weeks Little Bird and The Chief took swimming lessons...well, more like "how now to die lessons." The Chief learned how to turn on his back and grab the wall, though he still has work to do, and Little Bird can swim to the side and grab the wall if she falls in. I wouldn't say that either of them would make it if no one was around, but they both love the water and are at least a little safer than they were before.

Little Bird did not like the lessons and tried to escape. I had to sit somewhere out of sight so she would stay in the pool. It wasn't until the last day that she decided it was kind of fun and let me take the photos below.

The Chief never enjoyed his lessons and would be hoarse everyday from screaming the entire time.

This gal taught my brother-in law to swim so she's been doing it for a very long time. She is really good with the kids and has a lot of patience.
