The Chief LOVES stairs...we have quite a few of them in our house so he gets plenty of practice. He started out with the steps down to the family room, and once he felt confident going up those he moved on to the stairs leading up to the second floor. The basement steps were the last to be conquered.
It
only took a couple of mishaps for him to realize that you can go up
looking where you're going, but not down, unless of course you want your
decent happen very quickly. Now he just sticks to going up.
